Why should I choose electrolysis over other hair removal methods?

How many electrolysis treatments are required?
The number of treatments varies with each person because of several reasons, some which are previous use of temporary hair removal such as; tweezing, waxing, threading, sugaring, and other reasons can be related to heredity, hormonal, going on or off certain medications, poly cystic ovary syndrome, irregular periods etc.

Are electrolysis treatments uncomfortable?

Immediately following electrolysis treatments, there may be slight redness and/or puffiness, which usually disappear within a few hours. it is very important that you discuss your post electrolysis treatments with your electrolysis to promote proper healing. Certain skin care products such as witch hazel, and neosporin creme are excellent to use after your treatment.

Can unwanted hair be removed from anywhere on the body?
Hair removal can be safely done in most body areas. The most common areas are the chin and the upper lip. Once the client is comfortable with their electrologist they usual bring up the situation of wanting hair removed from their nipples and below the belly button as well other common areas for hair removal are eyebrows, cheeks, sideburns, neck, shoulders arms, underarms, bikini line, leg, men’s back, shoulders and chest and beard are very common too.

Can women begin or continue electrolysis treatments during pregnancy?
Although electrolysis treatments for unwanted hair has never been proven to be harmful to pregnant women, it is suggested to bring a note in from your doctor. This note also is required if you have diabetes (due to slow healing). You will also need a note from a doctor to work on any hair removal from a mole. This is also for your own protection that all moles on your body have been looked at by a dermatologist.

Does electrolysis have any side effects on the skin?

For over 20 years now, the American Electrology association has been providing this international board of electrologist certification for electrologists worldwide.
This CPE diploma hanging in your electrologists office will signify that they have been tested and measured against a national standard of excellence, in addition too or instead of their state license. The electrologist commits to keeping the high credentials through on-going continuing education. Board certification is voluntary training and credentials. The electrologist has every five years to obtain seventy-five hours of continuing education or needs to be re-tested. This is important to make sure your electrologist is aware of changes in the profession and keeps your electrologist up to date.
